Colour sensing Case study

Elumen

The idea

Sense, see, scan colours.

Goldwell has a product line that lets hair stylists mix colours the way a painter mixes paint. The sensor lets clients bring their own colour, scan it, and build a palette from it. The app turns RGB into values a stylist can actually use.

The prototype was built with an Arduino and a colour sensor. Each colour is scanned and sent to a Processing sketch to store and display.

It worked well enough to be adapted for other uses.
